Haha how are those cards a 5? Man on the modern sports card forums I get people giving me heat for saying anything with Fish Eyes on the printing or the type of corner wear you see on some 90s cards is fine. I don't think its fine to say that for raw cards from this era. But damn these are some good grades. I can usually only afford PSA 3's which I think is the sweet spot for owning the card not the grade.

PSA is getting ridiculous with how they grade cards. The Steve Carlton “6” may be justified by how off center the card is. The higher the % off center the lower the grade even if everything else is perfect. For example, a 9 or 10 can’t be worse that 45% one side 55% the other ect ect…pSA use to be more forgiving in the past if the rest of the card was cherry but those days are long gone.

6:47 The label for the ‘71 Brooks Robinson that came back “minsize” says 1967 Topps Jim Bunning on it. Wonder if PSA mixed the cards up

I heard that the “flow line” issue mainly impacted modern cards. So anything older didn’t seem to have any issues with the lines.

I have been up charged before. And then the card came back altered. So I had to pay more for a no value card...it sucked!!

Can I ask how long the order was in assembly? Have three orders in with PSA (all sent at different times) that are stuck in Assembly. One of the orders has been stuck in assembly for 3 weeks now. Can anyone shed some light on why…I have never had an order stuck in assembly that long.

How do you store all of these slabs?

Mike, if it's any consolation I whupped Chris on almost every Bench card. 😎 These days I go for lower grades with great eye appeal, as he does, but I had already built my Bench run in high grade.

Yea, Kurts card care fixes so many of those flaws easily. Quite a shame that the card industry hates on perserving them that way, unlike in the comics world.

The min size may be that they are too flat like squished. Kurts card care fixes those all the time.

Nice batch of cards. Nice keepers for the pc . Yeah they just up charged me on my Kobe sticker auto (psa 6) when I also graded another on card /60 Kobe auto (psa 7) and they didn’t charge on it. 🤔 just never now with psa . both I was thinking 8’s or I wouldn’t graded them . But they’re for my collection, so I’m happy to have them slabbed. They only had 1/19 in the new , now old heavier slab . I do like them too

The lighter the holders the better. That is one of the main things I don't like about SGC is the weight and the bulk. You need a black light to see re-coloring. I was just thinking, how does a card that is a 2 on 10 scale considered "good"? "Chee-clay" is Spanish for gum. I though they were trashing qualifiers, bummer.

The forward pass was legalized in 1906 for all intents and purposes. Part of the effort to cleanup the game, by the eastern powers & teddy Roosevelt. However like most things in life the story is slightly more complicated.

A Pinhole PSA 1 is a great place for people to get into some cool old Vintage. Better condition than it's grade usually and a reasonable price. As someone who isn't that versed in Vintage, I love seeing all the different sets and learning more. Also, what is that dual auto booklet on the back Right of the screen Mike?

Nice cards! I don’t agree with PSA upcharging, however, PSA is pretty good about not over-upcharging. I never really mind when they do it because the card value is typically well over the minimum value range for the upcharge.

There is one rare but significant downside to intentionally sending cards at a lower level/declared value. If PSA damages it they will only reimburse what you list as declared value. Damage typically happens during encapsulation so grades have been assigned, but it doesn’t matter what it graded. If you put a declared value oft $500 on the 72 Mays that’s all you’d get. If you put $300 that’s all you get. I’ve had it happen to me and got burned, so for big cards I always send at the likely level and enter in the max declared value. Great video guys!!
